| Blaekwode (Ebon Wode, Dark Forest) Located half a day's travel south of Mir, one day's ride north of Harpersford, this hamlet consists of little more than a broad main street and a handful of well-kept cottages. By the Blackwood Inn, a servicable establishment used by passing merchants and the occasional noble hunting party, a hunter's trail leads west for about five miles to Lake Gweneth. Gweneth: The Gweneth area sports rolling hills and a few small mountains whose streams support Gweneth Lake, which lies deep between the forested mountains. The lake has a fey reputation, and tales of evil witches and sunken treasures are told on a nightly basis in the Inn's taproom. It is true that every year some hunters disappear, and that strange creatures are sometimes glimpsed through the thick woods, but no treasure of any consequence has ever been found in the lakes or the nearby area. |
